Narrative
Between 1885 and 1887, Robert invested over Đ30,000 (over Đ1million today) in the firm of one G.R.Forster, a Leather Dealer from Bermondsey. London. Forster was to defraud Robert of the lot, and this forced Robert into bankruptcy in December 1887. The case was well (If not eagerly) documented for several weeks in the London Times. His death from TB in the next year left his family with nothing, even forcing the sale of their house.
