Retired from The Middlesex Regiment due to ill health, with the rank of Lieutenant on 21 Dec 1917.
Middllesex Reg. Temp. 2nd Lt. Malcolm P. Hyatt, from Lancashire. Fusiliers to be temp. 2nd Lt. 31st Mar, 1916.
The undermentioned to be temp. Lts: Lt. Malcolm P. Hyatt (kite Serv. Bn., Middllesex Reg), whilst employed. under the D.G.R. & E. 6th July 1920. The London Gazette Issue 29544 published on the 11 April 1916.
Born in the "Hawthorns" family mansion, Streatham. In March 1897 Malcolm went to Africa with Stanley. They traded in goods for a while and Malcolm followed Stanley in his travels. Malcolm fought in the Boer War. which was where he gained his military rank. When he returned to England, Hounslow, in 1939, he worked as a surveyor until his death in 1948.
