1901 Census at 21 Halsey Street, Chelsea listed GWB age 74, Picture Dealer; JB, age 58 and CB, age 24 - single - believed to have died in Belgium. 1856 - GWB Sr. and Jr. filed Bankruptcy on behalf of the business. The business simply failed and there was a scandel with Jr. hiding assets from his marriage to the Wealthy Louisa Prosser. See copy of newspaper articles in scrapbook. Clemment v. Bradbee - bailment hearing on leasing of premises where landlord (Clemment) did fail in his part of the agreement, and Bradbee was within his rights to quit the premises for his manufacturing business (4 Dec 1845)
THIS is to give notice, that the Court acting in the prosecution of a Petition for adjudication of Bankruptcy, filed on the 22nd day of October, 1855, against George Whiffin Bradbee the elder, and George Whiffin Bradbee the younger, both of No. 115, Newgate-street, in the city of London, Fringe Manufacturers and Co-partners, trading under the name, style, or firm of G. W. Bradbee and Son, did, on the 9th day of December, 1856, allow him, the said George Whiffin Bradbee the younger, a Certificate of the second class, after a suspension of six months; and that such Certificate will be delivered to the said bankrupt, unless an appeal be duly entered against the judgment of such Court, and notice thereof be given to the Court. Bradbee and Son, will sit on the 7th day of February next, at one o'clock in the afternoon precisely, at the Court of Bankruptcy, in Basinghall-street, in the city of London, in order to Audit the Accounts of the Assignees of the estate and effects of the said bankrupts under the said Petition, pursuant to the Acts of Parliament made and

Pursuant to an Order of the High Court of Chancery, made in a cause Sidney Smith against George Whiffin Bradbee the younger and others, the creditors of William Bean, late of Eddington, in the parish of Herne, in the county of Kent, Gentleman, who died in or about the month of June, 1856, are, by their Solicitors, to come in on or before the 26th day of June, 1856, and prove their debts at the chambers of the Master of the Rolls, in the place of the Rolls-yard, Chancery-lane, Middlesex, or in default thereof they will be peremptorily excluded from the benefit of the said Order. Monday, the 30th day of June, 1856, at twelve o'clock at noon, at the said chambers, is appointed for hearing and adjudicating upon the claims. Dated this 26th day of May, 1856.
