Narrative
Florence, in the Census 1901, was resident at 70 Regina Road, Islington. She was known to be resident at 37 Streatfield Avenue, Barking Road, East Ham on 16th June 1909. Florence worked as a bead embroideress, mostly on orders for music hall artistes such as Marie Lloyd. She married William Waskett in 1922 and lived in Forest Gate until 1927 when they moved to Southend-on-sea, Essex. William successfully applied for the headship of Sacred Heart Primary School, Southchurch, in 1934. Evacuated with the school to Mansfield during the Second World War. Returned, with the school, to Southend mid-war. She died 1953 from a heart condition caused by a bout of rheumatic fever contracted when she was young, she had a gentle and retiring nature.
