The district _resham has been linked by FreeBMD to Evesham although it is not strictly an alternative name for this district.
Evesham spans the boundaries of the counties of Gloucestershire, Hereford and Worcester and Worcestershire. However... The BMD transcribed volume 6a is not strictly valid for district Evesham in the year 1919 and therefore there may be an error in the GRO index or in the transcription. The expected volume is 6c.

It was further noted that the only child, Sylva Woodcock, was indexed with a mothers maiden name of Boyce on her birth.. This appears to confirm William's marriage to Lily, but not confirming William's ancestry.
