After leaving school, Ruth trained as a Probation Officer in Notting Hill, London. Nothing else is known other than she entered the closed order of nuns, The Order of the Visitation of Holy Mary, in the Convent of the Visitation around the time her Mother died in the early 1960's. This was at 'Roselands', Walmer, Deal, Kent. The Convent left Walmer in 1971 and of the various buildings built by the Order only the distinctive Gothic Chapel of the Sacred Heart, designed by Pugin in 1890, remains. She moved to the Visitation Convent, Foxhunt Green, Waldron, Heathfield, East Sussex, in 1971 and died there 20 years later still in the Order of the Visitation. She did not marry and had no children.
